This Easter, our community came together in a really special way.
Across the Easter weekend, from good Friday to Easter Sunday , We were in the Town Square, where people gathered to read Bible verses, sing a hymn and spend a moment reflecting on the meaning of Easter. At the centre stood the cross✝️, a simple but powerful reminder of hope, love, and new life.

It was simply about sharing something that matters deeply to us, and being present together in a spirit of kindness, openness and faith.

From there,
many of us walked together to St Andrew’s Church for an Easter service. It was a lovely time of worship and reflection, with a great turnout from across the community.

One part of the message that stood out was how the Easter story still has details we sometimes overlook. In Matthew’s Gospel, it mentions that after Jesus’ resurrection, many holy people who had died were raised and appeared to others. There are other striking moments too, like the temple curtain tearing in two, the earth shaking, and even a Roman centurion recognising something profound in who Jesus was. It is a story with depth, mystery and meaning that people continue to explore in different ways.

Thank you to everyone who came along, joined in, or paused to share a moment with us. However you spent your Easter, we hope it was filled with peace, hope and togetherness.

He is risen.🙏🏼

We’re so grateful to Wiveliscombe Town Council for their amazing £25,000 grant to support St Luke’s Community Group
thank you! 💛

We now have the exciting challenge of match funding this amount, and we’re already busy fundraising and bringing the community together with events.

Our immediate goal is to raise £15,000 for an accessible toilet, with plans to follow for step-free access and better heating/insulation to make the building more welcoming and sustainable for everyone.

It’s been wonderful to see so many people enjoying the space already
from talks and exhibitions to music and celebrations
and we’re excited to grow this into an even bigger community hub.

If you’d like to get involved, share ideas, volunteer, or support us with a donation, we’d love to hear from you!
