Our beautiful All Saint’s Church, which is part of the united benefice of Wiveliscombe, is set in the centre of the small rural village of Chipstable in the Brendon Hills approximately 3 miles west of Wiveliscombe surrounded by picturesque agricultural landscape. Chipstable is occupied by a mix of young and retired families a few of which donate generously, not only of their time, but are supportive financially to help keep the church maintained both inside and out.
Services
We hold services on the fourth Sunday of each month normally at 10.00am which alternates between Holy Communion and Matins. These include special services for Easter followed by an Easter Egg Hunt. Harvest Festival, Remembrance and a candle lit Carol Service at Christmas. We extend a warm welcome to everyone of all age groups and always encourage our congregation to stay for refreshments and even occasionally a glass of wine! In the winter months of January and February our services are held in someone’s home often followed by breakfast as the church is a bit chilly! Last year we held a Sung Evensong with the beautiful In Ecclesia choir.
