Congregation
We have a wide range of theological backgrounds from Anglo-Catholic to free church, so our services range from sung Eucharist with organ and choir to cafe-style family celebrations with contemporary worship. Our Christingle service sees the church packed with local families for a candle-lit celebration.
Cafe
Highlight of the week on Thursday mornings. Home-baked cakes bring in locals to enjoy coffee and chat while listening to piano music or the community choir. Toddler group, in our well-resourced children’s area, is popular with local families.
Compassion
Wivey Welcomes Refugees made St Andrews its hub with English lessons provided thrice weekly in the first year. The visit of Sophie, now Duchess of Edinburgh, made a real impression.
Wivey Kitchen uses volunteers to cook hundreds of meals a week for needy locals, some of which are supplied through the freezer in church. They made their home with us for several months over the winter.
Concerts
Great acoustics make the church a choice venue for both classical and folk events, with famous names, such as Red Priest, Jess Gillam and Gigspanner, drawing in the crowds. The performance by the Band of the Royal Marines was amazing; their return in May is warmly awaited.
