Welcome to our church and parish.
Raddington is the smallest and most westerly parish in the benefice, comprising a scattering of farmhouses and cottages with a population of around 50. The church is the main focus of our small rural community and we are lucky to be valued and supported by a far wider circle than those who regularly attend services.
We welcome visitors from far and wide who are often surprised and delighted to find our door is always open. Our church is only accessible on foot through the adjoining fields or footpaths, and we have no running water or electricity. Our winter services are often lit by gas lights or candles and music is provided by a pedal powered harmonium. For us this adds to the special character of St Michael’s, but depending on the time of year, visitors should come prepared with boots, coats and possibly a torch! Parking can be found at the side of the road to the north of the field above the church.
