🌟 Would you like to get more involved in our community? 🌟

At St Andrew’s Church, we are very grateful for the many ways people already serve both the church and the wider community.

Recently, we’ve realised that we could use a little more help in some areas of church life, and we are also aware that people may have talents, skills, or interests that we simply don’t know about yet.

If you have ever thought about volunteering, helping out from time to time, or getting a little more involved in the community, we would love to hear from you.

We have created a short survey to help us understand what people might enjoy helping with. Please consider filling it in even if you are already serving and would like to continue doing what you currently do.

There are a variety of opportunities, including:
☕ Helping at our Thursday Café
⛪ Supporting Sunday services
🔑 Simple practical tasks such as locking up the church during the week
🤝 Other ways to support the life of the church and community

Some roles involving children or young people will require safeguarding checks and a short informal recruitment process, in line with Church of England safeguarding practice.

If you are unsure what any role involves, please feel free to get in touch with Sherry, Jamie or Lorna, who will be happy to help.

📝 Paper copies are also available at the back of St Andrew’s Church.

Thank you for helping to make our church and community such a welcoming and supportive place

📢 Sunday@6 Update

We're afraid that Sunday@6 will be cancelled this Sunday (15 March). As it's Mothering Sunday, many people already have family plans and other commitments.

We look forward to seeing you at the next Sunday@6 on 19 April! 🙌

🔔Bell Ringers Wanted🔔

The bells across our benefice are often silent and seldom ring out for morning service. It is a pleasure when visiting ringers come and peal the bells and it was good to hear the bells sounding out at Christmas in Brompton Ralph, Chipstable and Wiveliscombe.

Over the past year a number of people have approached me and expressed their interest in learning or rekindling their ringing. To that end we are hoping to recommence a weekly ringing practice.

Anyone interested at any level please contact us !

Happy 2026 to you all and I hope we have a band of ringers to ring in 2027!

Family service 🩷✝️

Last Sunday we shared a really special service together as we reflected on the story of the Woman at the Well. 💧

The Bible reading was brought to life by some of our wonderful volunteers who acted out the scene while the passage was read aloud. It helped us imagine the encounter at the well and the excitement of discovering something life changing.

The children headed out to make their own little wells, each with chocolate eggs hidden at the bottom, a fun reminder that there is joy and treasure to be found. 🐣

Meanwhile, the adults spent time discussing moments when we have been so excited about news that we have wanted to run out and tell everyone, just like the woman in the story who hurried back to her village to share what she had experienced.

We also had a time of quiet reflection where we wrote down things we are thankful for and things we wanted to ask God for. These were placed into water where the messages written slowly disappeared, symbolising giving our prayers to God and trusting that he has taken them now.

Thank you to everyone who helped lead, act and take part in such a thoughtful and creative service. 💙

Join us for the second Sunday every month, our family service starting at 9.30am - free breakfast too!!

Important Notice St Andrew’s Church

As part of the repairs needed at St Andrew’s, scaffolding will be put in place (Friday 6th March) to assist the builders. Because of this, there will be no parking available in the church grounds. It’s in place until Easter - hopefully finished by Maundy Thursday!

The path around the church will be blocked, so please do not try to drive around the building as you will need to reverse back out.

The gate to the church drive will be closed, with pedestrian access only

If you have mobility issues
a small number of cars will be able to park by prior arrangement during Services or the All Age Café. Please contact our churchwarden Sherry to make arrangements:

Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding while these works are carried out.
