Message from Wivey and the Hills Churches on Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Dear Worshippers, Guests and Residents of Wivey and The Hills,

Due to the continued Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak and the recent government advice, all church events and services have been suspended until further notice, across all churches in our benefice. We are sorry that this has had to take place, and we ask that you support your local communities and demonstrate the light and love of Christ with those nearest and dearest to you.

We are a church of people that is very much alive and we have individuals who may be able to help if you know of someone who requires prayer or support. Please contact us if you would like to pass on a message or ask a question regarding a cancelled event or service.

As a church family we are working with local organisations including Wivey Cares and the Parish Council to look at ways to help the local community.  Street Angels or Street Wardens are a suggestion within the Wiveliscombe area and the 10 Parishes are working at finding similar help within the rural villages.  More details will be sent when we have them, but if you think you can help then please contact us.

As a church family we are working with other local churches at ways to live stream services and prayer sessions, using technology including video calling. We are also working with 10 Radio to record and stream services locally. We will let you have more information on this when we get it.

Churches will remain open, and you are welcome to come in and use the space for quiet reflection and prayer, but we ask you to please follow the government guidelines on hand washing, keeping 2 metres apart and if you are feeling unwell, not visiting.

We will update this information as and when we can to inform you of any changes to the situation.

With love in Christ,

The Churches of Wivey and The Hills
