Look to the hills…..
For your daily constitutional over the Easter weekend, make sure you visit the ceremonial life-sized Cross which John Cottenham and John Osborne have erected at Fleed Cross (just off the main road going west out of Wivey after you’ve negotiated the Devil’s Elbow hairpin bends.) From it you can get a panoramic view over Wivey and pray a blessing of hope on the land and the community.

Reflections for Holy Week
As we experience a Holy Week unlike any other, one of isolation and distancing, it is more important than ever that we journey with Jesus through this week towards the cross and the resurrection. We may not be able to gather together at this time, but God has given us the gift of time to think, reflect and ponder anew the events of Holy Week. These reflections will help us to do that. It might be helpful for you to…

Collects, Psalms and Scripture readings for the 6th week of Lent
Collect for Palm Sunday Almighty and everlasting God, who in your tender love towards the human race sent your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ to take upon him our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross: grant that we may follow the example of his patience and humility, and also be made partakers of his resurrection; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,…

An enjoyable way to prep for Palm Sunday
Dear Friends across the Deanery, A few of us have had an idea I’d like to share with you so that you can pass it on to your congregations. Next Sunday 5th April is Palm Sunday so between now and then, it would be wonderful if as many people as possible made or printed a picture/painting/3D model/image of a donkey and/or palm leaves and place them in your window so that as people do their ‘one exercise a day’ they…

Amen And some special prayers for this week Lord Jesus Christ, you have…

Special Prayers for this week
Friday prayers – 27th March, 2020 Psalm 130 Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. 2 Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications! 3 If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered. 5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; 6 my soul waits for the Lord more than those who…

Coronavirus update: Thursday 26th March 2020
In compliance with the government’s latest change of policy, places of worship in the Benefice are now closed for all religious services except funerals. The purpose of this policy is to minimise all possibilities of infection, particularly of the vulnerable. However, church congregations remain active in watching out for their neighbours’ needs and holding them and each other before God in regular and faithful prayer. To this end, materials to enable people to pray, along with other printed materials to…
